This is an ongoing and growing list of resources that we are reading and viewing. Enjoy the bounty!
Books
1) Healthy at 100 by John Robbins. (Excellent research on four case studies of the longest living peoples of the world.)
2) Superfoods by David Wolfe. (Good stuff on what our bodies need--but you can google search Superfoods online.)
3) Nutraceuticals by Brian Lockwood. (Interesting bridge between the medical community and naturopathic/homeopathic community. This doctor takes an honest look at what medically gets overlooked.)
4) Miracle Mineral Solution by Jim Humble. (Instead of Zi-Cam, Advil or any over-the-counter nonsense, our Household takes this; and we are typically well within hours, if not a day or so.)
5) What Your Doctor Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You by Ray Strand, M.D. (Another doctor bridging the gap between nutrition and medicine. Fascinating read.)
6) The Master Cleanse by Peter Glickman (For those who want to get a jump start in detoxification. I personally went the juice fast route, but this one is just as good. As with all types of fasting, the real challenge is reintegrating into a balanced, healthy diet of solids without reverting back to old, bad habits. 8) Healing With Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford. (Asian philosophies and medicine coincide and correlate to all the above literature. Recipes and rationales for ailments and disease remedies abound.)
7) Eating Raw by Carol Alt (Many wonderful recipes in this book to help shape a healthier food prep repertoire.)
9) 12 Steps to Raw Food by Victoria Boutenko. (I am currently reading this. Boutenko hits the nail on the head as she equates all of the struggles people have depending on cooked food to an addiction, but offers clear advice, support and a wealth of scientific backing to the benefits of finally getting mostly on raw.)
10) Fasting and Eating for Health by Dr. Joel Fuhrman 11) The 80/10/10 Diet by Dr. Douglas Graham 12) Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman
Video Documentaries
1) The Beautiful Truth. Click to watch full length film. (Healing diseased patients, most all those with very late stage cancers through Gerson Therapy.)
2) The Gerson Miracle. Click to watch full length film. (Ditto)
3) Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead Click to watch full length film (A personal research documentary of an Aussie gone juice fasting for 60 days who motivates another American to do the same. Both off all medications; skin diseases in remission as a result.)
4) Forks Over Knives (A more highly scientific rationale promoting raw food, plant-based diets for health. Dr. Colin T. Campbell and Esylsten are interviewed; various patients become well from diet adherence. You can view for free on Netflix.)
5) Reversing the Irreversible. Click to watch testimonials of people healed due to raw food diet. 6) Vegucated Youtube Videos/Channels 1) Wild Edibles Part 1-4 by Sergei Boutenko Sergei teaches viewers that they can incorporate wild greens into their smoothies. What's better than FREE? 2) The Miracle of Greens by Sergei Boutenko. This is a MUST see about the evolution of the Boutenko family and their discoveries through the presentation and knowledge of son, Sergie. Absolutely phenomenal. 3) The Renegade Health Show. The list is certainly not comprehensive, and I'm not saying I agree with absolutely everything about them. I wish you all well as you do the same!
